Oscar had been losing weight and we noticed his water intake had gone through the roof. We suspected kidney disease but the vet confirmed it was actually diabetes. While daily injections wouldn't be too bad to for a healthier, younger cat, Oscar was not a good candidate. His immune system was compromised and the vet felt he would not have a good quality of life. We didn't want to simply prolong the inevitable while he continued to get weaker so we let him go. We'll miss this sweet, yet feisty boy. RIP Oscar. We'll see you on the other side.
