One of our volunteers noticed Walter limping across her street, looking bedraggled and sick. She tried to feed him but he’d always run off only to return when she went inside. She was concerned he wouldn’t survive the winter and asked if we could help.

We set out a trap and got him immediately. It was as if he knew the trap meant help. Our vet found he had a severe upper respiratory infection, an injury to his paw, and a long bald spot down his back. He was very skinny and dirty.

He surprised us by being extremely friendly! Oh, and he’s huge. His medical issues have all resolved and his coat is now glossy and full. He’s a big, beautiful boy. His biggest fan is Hopie, who follows him around to groom his head. Walter is available for adoption locally.
