Pippy was born with a condition known as severe microphthalmia, which means she was born with underdeveloped eyeballs. She is completely blind. She came to us as from a shelter in Austin where she had been brought in as a stray. She had an uphill battle for adoption as she was both blind and black. Black cats are half as likely to be adopted in shelters. Pippy was very scared and spooked easily at any sound so she came to live at the Sanctuary, where she could be loved and cared the rest of her life. She’s a sweet girl who loves to sit outside on the deck and listen to the birds go by.
